Stay up late with me, please?
You always called me before bed,
Loving to talk as I fell asleep.
Even as my eyes shut,
And my breath fell even,
You listened to me sleep,
Finding comfort.
I did the same with you,
Imagining I was next to you,
Curled up and warm,
As you dreamed peacefully.
A bunny and a deer,
Sleeping side by side,
But never allowed,
To be close.
