Steady Sailing
The wind blows steady
unseen but heard.
What is this feeling of emptiness I to go to sleep with at night
but soon forget in the morning?
Did I pretend to forget
Just to go on with my days, survive?
How many times did I try to satisfy it
make it go away?
I know all I had to do was love.
Love someone, anyone
but I didn't.
So no matter what I did the feeling always came back.
The emptiness I used to feel so long ago
was the result of an overwhelming fullness
of many feelings I have choked down from the past.
The wind blows steady
for this I'm sure
the sight is none
but the touch I know.
They're all come back.
