The Stench Around Us

*The Stench Around Us* Hurrah's Thoughts We thought we had seen it all The mourning cries of hunger The dying child from Libya The war torn streets of Syria The bleeding hearts of a mother We thought we had seen it all The wicked whip of a soldier The cunning pen of a minister The deception of our leader The ruthless plea of a lawyer We thought we had seen it all The fallen roofs of a classroom The crowded wards of a hospital The hellish roads that our cars ply The endless list of our taxes We thought we had seen it all The lazy hands of a father The crazy trend of a daughter The wasteful taste of a brother The silent scold of a mother We thought we had seen it all The wordless speech of a preacher The deafened ears of the listener The ficticous search for blessing The misery of our actions We thought we had seen it all The lifeless lessons of a teacher The endless notes on the chalkboard The confused souls of the students The truncated bliss of discovery Teach with your heart Rob them not, the bliss of knowledge ©️Hurrah's Classroom Madeenah Gbadamosi 🌀The EduPoet
