The Step Sisters

You grew tired, and weary

Tired of waiting and watching her

Her beauty radiated off of her

A blind man could even see it

She even made plain jane clothing seem like high end fashion

Her cheeks were like two roses

Her eyes were two cerulean pools

Any man with right sense would willingly dive right in

But you were nothing

It took sleeping on gold

Wrapping yourself in lavender

Placing jewels upon your body

To become attractive

No, you didn't hate her

You loved her and she captivated you

You wished you could wear her

Put her over you, become her

Instead you belittled her because you realized

You were not her

You're not evil

You're a lovely girl, a brilliant girl who has allowed her self esteem

to plummet

Plummet to the point where

You had to bury her

Hurt her

Just so you could feel pretty
