Step on someone to get up
Step on someone to get up
Proverbs 16:18
“Pride goes for destruction and a haughty spirit before the fall”
Am I a vessel of emptiness ... at the moment of my birth?
As the Fall is lingering on in the existence of mankind.
Within the human structure ... there still remains great worth
for the newborn in every creed and that is quick to find.
My emptiness gets filled somehow by the environment I am in.
Added to that the love from family ... and of other relatives
Maybe by friends in school ... and the nation I am in.
unless I achieve above average my growth seems relative.
The foundation is simply laid stone by stone in experience.
Love, hate and indifference ... develop at different rates.
May be in the span of things the only real difference is
in matters of the scriptures and how I’m really raised.
Where are my real values ... and how are they defined?
Are they based on my own thoughts and private interpretation?
May be the way I am is all influenced from the outside
as the world improves itself in complete degradation.
The ruler of the world supplies constant pressure
and tries to mold me ... a clone after his will.
The sad part of it all is that by my own measure
I get filled with pride ... and the hunger to fulfill.
Anchored in the selfish ... justifying all.
I am a product of the world ... no thought of the hereafter.
There is no denying ... I feel beyond the Fall.
I am to rule my own life ... Really my own matter
I will fit God in somehow ... may be at my own level.
He should be glad ... that I pay Him some attention.
I am a Christian now you know ... and I am on the level
for my bubble is in the middle and I’m filled with pretension.
I am standing tall you know … even when flat on my face.
I am looking straightforward staring into the ground.
Heaven is where I want to go … I’ll make it my own place
and since I’m down I’ll dig some more until the treasure is found.
What is the Fall to me but a different position.
When I’m down and out I’ll be trampled by the ones like me.
It does not feel too good but I’ll accept it as transition
for I trampled on some myself and that made me feel free.
Now to get up quickly I have to trample on some myself.
When one gets down beside me I’ll climb on his back.
I’ll repeat this movement on the way to the top shelf.
I’ll claw and scratch constantly to be the leader of the pack.
