Steps

We take baby steps forward Then back we’ll fall But our steps are in synch We’re giving our all Best friends and sisters We float hand in hand Down the river of life Away from dry land There are times that seem bad But even rain can be good For she is my boots And I am her hood Left here in pieces Together made whole She is my heart And I am her soul Our steps are misguided No destination in mind Fleeing our demons The blind leads the blind Our spirits are broken We’re beat down and bruised Feeling empty and hopeless Tormented, abused We take steps out of the darkness And into the light The battle’s proven tough But together we fight
