Steps Forward

Starting today I am no longer held in chains by the regrets of my past,

I won't be bothered by the thoughts of those that would like to see me finish last,

All the negatives turn into positives when I change my mind,

In the beginning I was taking a step back each time,

Now that is all a memory because my future is bright,

No longer looking down, but always looking to the light,

I won't let my future be hindered by my past,

So here I go 12 steps forward, I won't finish last.
