"Sterling Heights"

I'm a negative balance away from becoming a felon.

I gave up negative thinking for lent, and on easter sunday I turned left at the 0 then continued stressing.

I have an embedded mechanism of depressive thinking, obligated to tell the truth whenever rhyme schemes are involved.

Olympic diving in a star-crossed pool, judges awarded a score of Beyoncé overall.

I have poetry, love, a kind heart, and that is all.

Inevitable way of life, so I'm looking to find a replacement in the fall.

I was born in the urban section of a country that publicly hates my skin, yet I still profess the love of where I'm from.

Call it a abusive relationship. We're on a small planet and I don't have the resources to run.

It started when my grandparents, grandparents were young.

They were denied the opportunity to learn how to be human, advance, or develop into one,

A few generations later my mother had a son.

They say to pull yourself up by your boot straps, but we had to wait several years for the shoes to even come.

Why is racism still a relevant discussion?

Is the world still flat? I guess we still lack instructions.

If you fuel the particles for hate, then you have a means for combustion.

Do we entertain crazy? Or have our people died for nothing.

What do you do when a person claims to be the messiah?

Normally you ignore them, brush them off, or condemn them with silence.

If you offer the opportunity for response, then it normally leads to violence,

Red, white, and blue... no wonder why we get anxiety from sirens.
