Sticks and Stones

I have heard every bad thing that has been said about me
But I let it go because I just want to make my grandmother proud
So I let it go they say sticks and bones may break my bones but words will never hurt me
That's the biggest lies that the devil has ever told because your words are bullet shaped and I'm not bulletproof
Nor am I shatter resistant and I'll let it go for you grandma
I live sleep eat for you grandma
in the third grade, I used to go around school and remind myself
when I was bullied sticks and stones when I was called all  outside of my name
sticks and stones sticks and stones and I suck it up for you grandma
But I refuse to be a sponge anymore
God has opened up a door called spoken word
I'm a worldwide misfit its time to let it out with spoken word
I don't have to scream and shout
I'm free I'm free I no longer have to hide the true and real me I guarantee
I no longer have to remind myself that sticks snap bones crack break snap bones crack sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me
That is the biggest lie the devil has ever told you to know how much my heart has to hold
