Still Growing

Sadness

The emotion I felt when I heard the news of the divorce

I knew it was inevitable but still

Longing for a family, I hoped

Looking at my siblings I knew

Growing up I had to do

Running around being careless was behind me

Opening my eyes to my new reality

Working to help my father with my siblings

I was becoming resentful of having to step up at a young age

Never once thinking I was becoming who I was meant to be

Guess that is one thing I would tell little me
