Still he stays

I’ve walked through fire I lit myself, Tore down my worth, betrayed my health. I’ve hurt, I’ve lied, I’ve run from light— But still, God held me every night. I gave my heart to broken hands, Loved too loud in sinking sand. They took, they left, without a trace— Yet still, God covered me with grace. My past is loud, my guilt runs deep, With secrets I can hardly keep. But even when I cursed His name, He stayed—unchanged, with love the same. Not once has He turned face or fled, He healed the wounds I thought were dead. When people left, when hope seemed gone, His quiet mercy still held on. I’ve given love that’s been ignored, But God keeps giving even more. No tally marks, no bitter tone— Just grace that finds me all alone. So if you ask me why I pray, Why I still praise Him every day— It’s not because I’ve done things right, But ‘cause His love still holds me tight. He sees the worst, yet calls me His, Restores me every time I slip. No matter how far I have strayed… God’s grace has never walked away.
