Still Not Sure
How often is it,
A person can tell,
When they’ve lived their life,
They’ve lived it well.
As through the years,
And along the way,
With all they’ve learned,
That to this day,
They’re still not sure,
What God would say….
They’ve lived their lives,
Through their stages,
As great ones have lived,
Throughout the ages…
They’ve been tough,
Throughout the years,
And managed a smile,
As they wiped their tears.
Yet it remains,
To this day,
They’re still not sure,
What God would say.
They’ve made mistakes,
There’s no mistakin’,
They felt the sorrow,
When others were taken,
They couldn’t see how,
As they would care,
That powerful people,
Wouldn’t play fair.
What were they missing?
Try as they may,
They still weren’t sure,
What God would say.
I’m not quite sure,
If I had to guess,
God was watchin’,
When they did their best.
When sometimes they made it,
And sometimes not quite,
I’ll bet He was watchin’,
When they set it right.
And that to be sure,
Is where we can start,
What God would say,
Is deep in our heart.
