The Sting

Sting, sting, sting like a bee.

Why is everyone looking at me?

I tried to make everything bright.

All that came for my labor was night.

Sting, sting, sting like a bee.

Who was I to think that wisdom came free?

I wanted to lead people to the right path.

Instead it ended in a bloodbath.

Sting, sting, sting like a bee.

What is with the manmade filter on the raging sea?

I worked towards convenience.

Humanity has no lenience.

Sting, sting, sting like a bee.

Why can we not hear the desperate plea?

The innocent are crying, craving.

And meanwhile, men continue enslaving.

Sting, sting, sting like a bee.

Why will no one listen to my plea?

Our most vulnerable are dying.

And it is only intensifying.

Sting, sting, sting like a bee.

Humanity continues to think that it’s free.

When really we are all in chains.

Struggling under the pressure of these growing pains.

Sting, sting, sting like a bee.
