Stockholm Syndrome

Taken from the life you knew under the cover of night
You woke up far away in a cellar with no source of light
Abducted by a scary Monster, yet you put up a fight.
You didn't break under the force of his might.

And so days turned into weeks, weeks into months and years.
He became the only living thing you could see, his voice alone graced your ears.
You've tried clinging to hope but it's left you alone with your fears.
You've screamed till your voice disappeared even your tears.

Gradually, your Abductor became less a monster and more a beast.
You are the beauty so the story is complete.
You place your trust in someone that inflicted pain on you with his fist,
and he gets a pat on his back for his sins.

A lifeline has been thrown though its a little late
But you prefer to drown in the sea of your twisted fate.
I'm not meaning to be condescending, I can relate
because I've slept with my demons and I've fallen in love with my Hate.

Don't look at me expecting me to condemn you for what's neither right nor wrong
because we are both hostages of the real monster
