The Stolen Painting (A compilation of haikus)

Sufiyan

Solitary,quite

In a state of resentment

always on the move

Stolen

He stood in the room

Body shaking violently

He took the painting

Adrenaline

He was ecstatic

His body was on fire

His feet flew across the ground

Doubt

What should he do next?

Knew he shouldn't have done it

Was it justified?

Answers

He figured it out.

He would hide it in plain sight.

It was his mother’s

Mother

She died in autumn

Inherited the painting

A tragic affair

Waiting

He sat on the couch

The painting staring at him

Anticipation

Hidden

Covered by bleak sheets

He knew they wouldn't find him

Moving like a snake

Caught

Laughed in ecstasy

And then he stopped, his face fell

Flashing red and blue
