Stone Cold Catfish

Every day I get lonely as I sit by myself, Not a friend by my side, or at least, someone else. I got so used to sitting and watching the clock, Or laying in bed swiping through boring tik-toks. But yesterday something happened, the craziest thing, A dating website, popped up on my screen. 'COME FIND THE ONE', 'YOUR LOVER IS WAITING', 'IT ONLY TAKES ONE SWIPE'...it was online dating. I clicked on the ad, thought I'd give it a try, It was great 'cause I could meet someone and not look in the eyes. I didn't use my real face or I'd never be matched, But that shouldn't matter, my personality's a catch. As soon as a week later, I got my first date! John Walker had asked me to go for a skate. I quickly replied yes as I jumped on my bed, But then lost all my excitement when I remembered the snakes on my head. Oh right, and I wasn't the girl in the picture, So my happiness started dwindling quicker. But I wasn't about to just give up like that, So I put on some sunglasses and a really big hat. When we met at the rink, I told John I was sick, So that's why I didn't quite look like my pic. He nervously laughed but continued our date, And believe it our not, the night was actually great. At the end of it all, he went in for a kiss, Which would have been great if it weren't for the hiss. I quickly left but not before making an excuse up, Time to go back online, man it sucks being Medusa.
