STOP!
STOP!
Turn around and look at me,
You say a man looks into his opponents eyes,
Yet you cower away from me…
Did I not do right?
Asking you to replenish my worth?
My eyes sunken into my skull,
Lips cracked and dull.
Yet you sit there and wallow,
Allowing me to shrivel away.
My hands shake as I privilege you with my opinion,
Screaming from the rooftops, my hurt, my pain,
Yet you are deaf,
Turning your head to the side when I stumble.
Are you not my so called father?
The Giver of the gift to my mother?
The princess such as written in the storybooks you once read to me?
Your Daughter?
I walk towards you with my hand laid out, palm up,
But you look at me with remorse and turn away
Wake up, look to me
I am you
I am apart of you
I am your daughter
I am the man looking into your eyes as you shrink away
Did you not tell me a man looks into his opponents’ eyes?
Are you not a man?
Are you not apart of me?
Are you not my Father?
