Stop the Rush

If I could change only one thing...
What would I do? Would I make myself king?
No, I would slow the world down; I would tell it to rest.
For everyone, it would be best.
Because we rush; we hurry; we move real quick.
But do we ever take time to ponder and think?
As we hustle and bustle and scurry around,
Do we ever stop and listen to nature's sweet sound?
Life is a journey not a race.
So why do we move at such a brisk pace?
We're all on fast forward, when we should be on play.
Time seems to flash by at the speed of a light ray.
We're so set on the future, always looking ahead,
Never stopping to notice what someone has said.
There is no need for this constant haste.
In the end, it is ultimately a waste.
So I urge you dear friends to get off the fast track.
Because the time that you lose, you will never get back.
