Stop, Speak

Stop it.

Bickering at each other.

Nipping at weaknesses and stabbing sore spots

That turn any honest discussion sore

with the lack of communication being displayed

Your opinions of each other please set aside

And left in the face of a new side of discussion

In order to forget

Our petty grievances

And grudges carried

Over party lines

Over economic lines

And so much more

Over family lines

Over racial lines

Instead, I insist, you implore

The option of a calm talk

Carried with the intention of peace

Not as a lead up to a storm

That would shred people piece by piece

With vitriol, anger, and scorn

At other people’s opinions

That they live their lives

Following not like minions

But as people

Not demons

Most of my stuff is inspired by some of the very somber anti-war poems written after WW1. Others can be on a whim or based off fictional works.
