Stop Telling Me
Stop telling me
that I should “really eat something”
just because you don’t
see the struggle I have with keeping
that something in my stomach
Stop telling me
that men like curvy girls
as if the approval of all men
is really what I am looking for
Stop telling me
that I have a nice ass
or a great rack
as if that’s all I am worried about
Stop telling me
that the reason I won’t
eat in front of you is because
all girls think they are fat
as if thinking you’re fat isn’t a problem
You have no idea
Stop rolling your eyes at me
when I ask “how many calories are in that”
or when I say “I can’t eat that”
because I’m not asking for your sake
Stop huffing and puffing
every time I complain about my body
because my complaints about my body
have almost killed me
Stop telling me
that I look like I’ve gained weight
or “gotten thicker”
because I will try to fix it
in the worst possible way
Stop telling me
what you think about my body
because it’s not your body
and I’ve heard it all before
There is a reason
that it hasn’t fixed anything yet
So stop telling me
