Stop The Violence

How we gonna go outside and run from bullet

I’m sad about what happened can’t believe they really do this

They living thug life cause they really out here shooting

So why they do this

They be playing with a gun like you playing with an instrument

I’m only 16

I mean we only 16

Yall be blowing all this steam

Like we ain’t really teens

so I really wonder if we didn’t have guns would the community be different... hmmm now let’s take a moment to think about why we have so many bodies dropping. It’s been 9 homicides in 2020 and 160 homicides in DC in 2019 and The murder rate increase by -36% but that’s the dmv. I thought back in the day people knew better than to kill kids, mothers and fathers but nowadays a bullet doesn’t have a name to it.

I see in my community, your fake wanna be gangsters, your drug dealers, the boys that sit up onna block shooting dice while pedestrians is coming and going yea y’all know the ones that’s killing people for sum Clout, Sum Jordan’s oh I mean that new iPhone that came out sum months ago. yea I’m talking about the District of Columbia, that means SOUTHWEST, SOUTHEAST, NORTHWEST and NORTHEAST.

Nowadays it’s 8 o’clock in the morning and bow there’s one body (Pause).

Pow pow Two bodies by midnight there at least 3 bodies gone, but that’s what happens in the dmv.

Y’all scream Stop the violence and put down the guns but that still ain’t happen yet...

I’m wondering….

Did y’all  forget about 10 year old Makiyah Wilson who was killed right before she was about to buy her ice cream..

Did you forget about my friend Jaqaur McNair the one who was stabbed at Capital south station

Did you forget about Karon Brown the 11 year old who was gunned down by a grown man for an altercation with another child

They were just kids who lost they life at a very young age but y’all scream stop the violence put down the guns!

Since we scream stop the violence and put down the guns lets do something about that, open up more Recreation centers, put more cameras and officer on the street make kids feel safe to walk around without looking over their shoulder. The change gotta start somewhere,
