Stop like my heart does every time I hear your voice.

Start like the tears did at the sound of that voice saying goodbye.
Stop.
Stop like the love did when you left.
Start.
Start being close only when you want to.
Stop.
Falling in love with the idea of a him.
Start.
With my emotions until I no longer know what is real and what is not.
Stop.
Pretending like we weren't together.
Start.
Telling myself we aren't together anymore.
Stop.
Waiting for his calls.
Start.
Telling myself that if he wanted to call then he would.
Stop.
Pretending she doesn't exist.
Start.
Playing back the memories.
Stop.
Loving him.
Start.
Loving him?
Stop.
Thinking.
Start.
Loving.
Stop.
Loving.
Start.
Thinking.
Stop.
Re-reading the old chapter.
Start.
A new one.
Stop.
Being lonely.
Start.
To show interest just when I was getting good at being alone.
Stop.
Giving in.
Start.
Giving up.
Stop.
And start over.
