Stories of Vaelan

Hide from me the shores of Vaelan

To save me pray on my will to believe

Hide from me the shores of Vaelan

Keep them quiet, keep me naive

Tell me about the shores of Vaelan

Horror after horror of beauty and blood

Terrify me with the stories of Vaelan

Of killer crabs and damp air that turns the sands to mud

Take me to the shores of Vaelan

Screaming and crying as all others do

Take me to the shores of Vaelan

That I may fin’ly be free of you

Loose me from my chains on the shores of Vaelan

Watch me run open into the colorless sands

Lose me forever on the shores of Vaelan

Free and as far as I can get from your hands

Leave me on the shores of Vaelan

Alone with the nameless crabs and their rust

Leave me on the shores of Vaelan

Let me hurt and heal and learn again to trust

Never return to reclaim what you thought to be yours

I am and will not be yours to buy and sell

Never speak of your faults but twist those of the shores

But the stories of Vaelan were never yours to tell
