In the storm.
Some days I don't know what's up and what's down
and some days I wonder if I'll float or I'll drown.
My burdens are heavy, they weigh me, I sink,
my mind it is filled with thoughts I should not think.
The oceans surround me, the waves they grow tall,
my body is aching, I feel nothing at all.
But my God he is bigger, these oceans I face,
they bowed down before him as his foot found its place.
He walked out to meet me though trembling I swam,
he lifted me up in the palm of his hand.
My heart now is beating, my lungs fill with air,
my savior before me, I stop and I stare
Now I know, wherever I am,
in the storm stands my maker, my heart in his hand.
Though he may not rush me safely to shore,
his arms they will hold me right there in the storm.
