Storm

Rays of sun pierce through the sky

My hands sink into the sand like cushions,

Small,

Plump,

Endearment only for a kind world,

A loving mother and father,

Sheltered from the storm

Clap-

Time shakes,

My eyes flick-

Glossing over odd shapes that hold meaning,

A whole new realm,

The clouds now charcoal,

Visible to the storm

Crash-

Time warps,

Feelings grow musty around the heart,

Butterflies surge throughout my entire being,

Love,

Lies,

Heartbreak,

Rain begins,

Close to the storm

Boom-

Time soars,

Splitting of my parents,

Trembling of the voice,

Shaking of my existence,

Volatile thoughts of self harm,

Unsheltered from the storm

Crack-

Time falters,

Past memories surge around me,

Joy,

Anger,

Disgust,

Fear,

Sadness,

I am valid-

I am changed,

And I welcome the storm
