The Storm

High school;

Scholarships, applying for colleges

The stress of doing it all

Staying on top of school

Is like a hurricane.

Causing a tsunami

Or a dam about to flow over my head.

I can only handle so much

Parents nagging at me,

And maintain my grades.

“Did you do your homework?”

“Have you worked on scholarships?”

“Did you work on you senior project?”

That’s all I ever hear.

Hardly ever a “hello” or “how was your day?”

I’m being dragged down

Unable to make some of my own decisions

I’m waiting,

Waiting for the storm to break

Have everything drain.

No more stress.

No more worries.

I’m almost ready

To leave and start a new chapter.
