The Storm Inside
Gray clouds and rainy days,
invariably take the fake away, without
the sheilding of the sunny glare, your
eyes are turned inward to what you
want to hide. when it's bright and
warm, you have no choice but to
shine just as bright, pushing your
true feelings and gloom down into
the pit of your stomach. The sun is
the mask we wear, the warm air is the
veil.
The rain cleases, it steals away the
shroud of lies and turns your eyes to
the skies and the streets patched with
dirt and rubble under your bare
aching feet and you can see the pain
in your veins with every step and you
realize you've been hurting... the rain
aids you, it gives you a reason to
copy the clouds and scream out like
thunder and cry like the pouring rain,
the world around you feeling exactly
like you do on the inside, now with
no where to go but out.
The cold, gloomy days reflect like the
sun does off the surface of the ocean,
the difference is that the gray clouds
reflect the mirror in you.
