Storms of the Heart

Flashing your dashing grin,

you intrigued me.

I made my moves and you made me chase.

You also warned me of your possible departure.

You said it was just a maybe.

I ignored it,

for you said it was just a maybe.

The hands on the clock went round and round.

Time passed.

We grew closer.

Steps were taken.

I made my final move,

my chase was over.

Your maybe became a final decision,

the choice was yours.

You could say "yes."

You could say "no".

I couldn't tell you what to choose.

It's your life,

not mine.

I did however hope you would say no.

Hell I preyed you'd say "no".

One day you told me your decision.

You said "yes".

You told me when you would leave.

I denied the truth,

I thought you would change your mind.

The date of your departure is 18 days away.

My tears are like rain drops on my pillow at night.

Each night the storm worsens.

Will the storm become a hurricane once your gone?

What grade hurricane will it be?

How long will it be?

Will the storm pass one day?

Will I ever see the golden rays of sun again?
