story

don't forget to read the words in the chapter book

don't misread, don't decide on looks

did you forget to read? i'm not a page full of pictures

where a story exists, the scars on my face and the marks on my wrists

how did the chapter end? did you just assume?

what if i decided to do that to you?

this candle is flickering and dancing on words and the true story i have resides with the birds

in a language only you'd understand if you took the time to hold my hand

if you assume the end you won't know the story, just sit with me down at the quarry

read me please, read my words

don't read the colors i promise it won't hurt

and if your eyes are working well, i promise your story is one i'll live to tell
