A Story About Saying Goodbye

She could fly

but when it came to saying goodbye

she was at a loss for words.

She said she'd face here fear

they were all open-eared

She'd be gone for the rest of the year.

She left right away

but turn back their way

because emptiness was all she could feel.

"It's been a long trip,

my friends

I hope I don't have to do it again"

Then an old man took his place

there was disgrace written

across his face

"But yet you will and all too soon"

The girl didn't know what to say

Ever since today

she would stay home.

It wasn't long till she understood

we can't all stay the same way

I must say goodbye

to the old me.
