The Story of a Poet

When the stars shine bright in the motionless night

A little girls sits at her bed side

writing stories about her life

beautifil stories filled with imagination and laughter

5 years past and the little girl continues to write

but this time she accompanies her stories with a tune

She sings a sweet melody

as she writes about the good times and the bad

As time passes the little girl quits writing

and the melody disappears in the motionless sky

the stories she once held dear to

no longer are endured

however a single bird shows her the melody

that was so long forgotten

and the stories return

this time with more life and knowledge

Now the little girl is all grown up

Singing the melodies that started in her past

she continues to carry a tune

she writes and writes

and those days when the stars shine bright

she sits at her bedside all through the night
