Storytime

Toss your things onto my floor

And make yourself comfortable

I won't mind if you linger here long

In fact I'd like it if you'd stay

I have seen a thousand faces

Pass the threshold of that door

Some of them were kind and welcome

Others dark and cold

They begin to feel the same

When you lay in the dark and think back on the years

The dark outside my head is no different from inside

And it does not end

But strike a match and I'll tell you a story

Brew a drink and pull a chair up

You can stay into the night

And well into the morning

And when you wake I'll leave you a breakfast

And clean clothes too

I will be here when you need me

And you will know where I am

The only struggle is finding someone

To care for me
