Stranded with my Sister

If stranded on an island, many choose to bring their phone

Or supplies to make life a little easier

I personally tremble at the thought of being alone

That is the ultimate fear for me

Abandonment on an island is not what anyone one craves

But for me the scariest part is not starvation

Or the animals that lurk in the caves and waves

Instead, the thought of days alone shakes me to the bone

Humans are social creatures

Our minds go crazy without company

This is one of our unique features

That’s why solitary confinement works

I am an extreme social butterfly

So I crave human interactions more than most

Without another person would die

That's why I would bring my sister

She is not only another human to talk to

She is also creative and brave

My sister always seems to know what to do

In my eyes she is as close to perfect as it gets

She is the calm to my storm

I know I would be hysterical

As she would quietly brainstorm

Ways to keep us alive and safe

Although I love all people, I would only be able to tolerate her

I can never get tired of hearing her jokes and stories

I could choose a friend or cousin but my big sister is who I prefer

Nobody knows me as well as my older sister

Since the day I was born we have been inseparable

She is truly my best friend

Without her companionship I would be miserable

She is the one thing I need to survive
