Stranded Opportunity

Stranded on this Island, How will I survive?

I need shelter, food, and water, just to stay alive

& if I find a way to obtain those basic needs

Though my body may be fine, it is my spirit I must feed

I must keep with me my conscience, my courage, and my faith

Not only to live, but to thrive in such a place

Tough I will have no one to talk to, on no one else to rely

I can take in nature’s beauty and the things that she provides

Whether resources are scarce, or treasures may abound

All I need surrounds me; it’s just waiting to be found

Nothing will be given, everything to earn

An opportunity for living, an opportunity to learn

The path is laid before me, where it will lead I do not know

I have to use what’s inside me, as I travel it alone

So I accept my situation, and plan to control my fate

For I know that deep inside me, I have what it takes
