Strange Feelin
Strange things happened around our house when we were kids.
If we'd said anything, you'd have thought we flipped our lids.
Scratching coming from our closets at night
Just thinking about it now, gives me a fright!
Mamma talked about seeing a ghost...
I never saw any scary night hosts,
But I remember weird things that happened there.
Some scary movement from our chairs.
A screen flying out of the window sill...
Or just being in a room that was eerily still.
Brad and I should be dead.
But we were spared our lives instead.
We were playing right up next to our house,
Mom, called us for dinner, when a man teaching his spouse, drove their car right into our house...
Right where we were playing!
Do you understand what I'm conveying?
Was something at that house to scare or protect us...
Or to hurt and misdirect us?
I don't know.
Funny how I still remember it some 58 years ago.
I really wonder what was bestowed upon us back then.
Strange things pop up now and again.
Like, "Why did someone sit right next to me on the same chair...is there anyone there??"
Oh, I'm sure they're laughing at me right now...
I do hope to see them someday, somehow.
I want to know if you're here to save me from myself?
Or is this just your last big "hoorah" before expelling yourself?
If you're here, give me a sign, would you please?
At least put me at ease...please try not to tease me.
I'd just like to know who you are.
Some shining star that's been sent from Heaven above?
To fill me with what I need, including your love?
Thank you...whoever you are.
Do you play a guitar, or drive a sports car?
I'd still like to know who you are...
Dear stranger from afar.
