Stranger
Stranger
You hear me now, I’m not familiar
Not from here where you all know each other
I’m a different man than you’re used to
The kind you don’t like, nor care if I’m something
You hear my cries, but with only deaf ears
You don’t like that I’m broken, a crumpled leaf in the wind
My worst sin is that you won’t hear me
You don’t care, and you don’t know me
Where I’ve been and who really loves me
Only God could tell
You think you are perfect in your anger
Thinking I’m destined for a downward bent prison
Life’s ordinate dishevelment
You wish you could know
What it would take to get me there sooner
You shouldn’t stare at this sinner
It’s not polite and you’ve never been near
Haven’t had these succubae
You’re lost in the clear
Never been bit by the serpent
Only been touched by the crooked ways
So, you say to me
You’re a sinner, a wretch, you shall not enter
Go back to the pit where you belong
So, you think you know where I’m going
Well, I say I’ll fight the touch
Won’t give in and let it take me
Fight this sin and shed my sorrows
I won’t forget my vile, an antidote
You fight and say it’s truly poison I’m taking in
You want me to keep going down the wrong path
But I know who loves me the most
The Lord our God, a Shepard
Part of the flock he’s surely tending
He’s got nail wounds for me and you
Don’t deny why he died, just love and cry
When you hear me now will you open your ears?
Tell a friend and swallow your gallantry
Tried and true Christ is the only Compass
Yours only points North
If that’s what you say, you’re lying
You, like I many a time am guilty of, sending yourself below your true position
Think your fury is only just
You’re lying to yourself
If the only way you can win is beating down the troubled
Then when will you ever get a real gain?
If you feel pain, it’s only natural
Hurting friend, welcome to living
Life’s an altruistic version of death
Until our leader conquered our fiends
Sent them far into their anguish
Punished them because they are the source of our problems
Not all on us we must ponder
That sometimes we can be stricken
Dumped on by the defectors to God
They run loose, and we get trampled
Without him we never can become whole
Now you know you’re a sinner
Not the only one in a lifetime
The boat is full, you never know who is aboard
Armageddon isn’t the end, but a beginning
The Last stand of the true and mighty
You may think I’m a sinner
Fact is, I know I am, but God’s not done with me yet, not this wretch
I know he will fix me
I might not be a mighty warrior
A leader in the army of men
But the Son of God will still behold me
Into the army of Heaven above
You see he doesn’t take the perfect
There are none but him
So, shed your false honor
Quit acting as though you are the only might of the worthy
You’re callous without redemption
Think nothing bad could happen
Never been where he’s been or where I’m going
Fact is, Christ’s last stand will have us all coming home
So, praise the God above for his love
I’ll race you to the gates if you can stand
To stand in line with the blood of the lamb
