The Stream


Drop a pebble into a stream And a small ripple will occur Before the pebble sinks below And the river will fail to stir Drop a rock into the same stream And perhaps a wave will appear Before the rock sinks down below But the water will never veer But drop a boulder into it, And the water must be very swift Because once the boulder settles It remains there; it cannot shift And so the water must drift on Ever forward, it cannot cease Even the boulder can't halt it Advancing...the stream is at peace
