Stream

I’m swimming strong with the tide,

Yet the waves continue to swallow me,

Figures above evolve and change,

Drawing me in,

But the clouds are unattainable.

I’m right in line with these fins besides me,

It seems this current is just too great to fight,

Looking up the sun is always smiling,

Laughing,

Knowing I’ll never escape this endless stream.

How simply my heart forgets its desires,

When someone else is pulling at its strings,

My own fear of never escaping,

This entrancement,

Restrains me from ever cutting these ropes free.

Life is simply something you get caught in,

An unforgiving net,

No escape.

We deal with what’s been given to us,

No questions asked,

But not everything is truly fate.
