Street Performer

You set up shop on times square and on Venice Beach

When people have had enough of your act, they will call the police

So the police come and move you and your act down two blocks

The people down there yell, when is this God-Awful act, ever going to stop?

When people come to these places, you are the last thing they want to see

The people who do give you money are only doing so out of pity

People will only stop and stare when they need a good laugh

But they will quickly run away because you really need a bath

Your only real talent is that you really know how to annoy

You will get far more scathing looks, than you will ever get coins

Your act is not good enough for the stage or even the circus

But you continue to perform because that's the only thing that gives your life purpose

What you are doing on these streets is actually very tacky

You just perform the same act over again, rinse and repeat

Your opening number and your encore are the exact same thing

The police say, it's time to move along people, there is nothing here to see

Your are loud, obnoxious, boorish, stupid, annoying and really abrasive

But somehow in your delusional mind you think that you are really talented

Someone from the music industry is not going to come along and give you your big break

When it comes to your musical dreams coming true, forever is what you are going to wait

Singing on the subway, singing on the cross town bus and singing on streets

Making a complete ass out of yourself, while at the same time disturbing the peace

Singing in the bus terminal, singing on the boardwalk, singing outside of a store

I need you to move along because I just can't stand this buffonery anymore

Street Performer, you are going to have to face reality, you are just a one-note joke

You are just one of many in a very long line of very untalented dopes

Street Performer, you are going to have to face reality, you making it as an artist, there's no hope

People don't want to hear your act anymore, they just want you to go

You are nothing but a Street Performer

People can't stand to listen to your God-Awful act any longer

You are nothing but a Street Performer

You think you have a special talent but you couldn't be wronger
