Streets of Gold

There will be tears to cry; yet the sky remains dry;

Clouds weigh heavy with rain, her heart feels the same.

Deliberate lies, deceit, shame -

A cobalt twirl spun with a sinful whirl.

A parted red lip, fearful of a slip

With a makeup mask to hide wistful, cheerful, joy-filled bliss.

And somehow, the world remembers little of this.
