Strength

The doors to my mind are made of brass

Rarely opened until the moment of my death

The doors to my heart are made of glass

Nearly impossible to count the number of times I’ve been made to lose my breath

With glistening eyes, looking into the night

Know that I entrust to you, my heart

I keep getting caught in the hopeless fight

I’ve only known the endless battles that lead to loss, so perhaps it’s best to part

Toss and turn; filled with despair and unable to sleep

Attempting to forget, you run until you can no longer walk

Staring into the dark; you refuse to weep

Choosing to stay silent, because you know that you can longer talk
