Strength is Made Perfect Through Weakness

I am weak

My words and deeds worth nothing

I search for answers inside my mind,

But nothing within is forthcoming

Lofty ideals, Depraved acts;

Why does one so follow the other?

Why can I see the evil of my ways,

yet the way to change them; never uncover?

Lust; hate

Fog and smoke and mirrors.

There is no way out among my thoughts

Yet without them there is only my fears.

Can I slay the tempting demon within my heart?

Who's gaping mouth requires more and more?

Or am I damned to be his slave

His broken discarded whore?

I know his demands bring corruption and filth

They make it not worth living life.

Yet how can I deny his gratifying call,

When to do so brings such strife?

Yet my Faith gives me assurance

That through self denial God brings the cure

To right the evils of my soul To make it as snow; clean and pure

Though the Soul is trapped with its dust

It will not be so forever

Heaven protects he who though weak, repents;

Will he be abandoned? Never
