Stress

A rat trapped in a cage Trying to run away, Scurrying left and right, The light shines too bright, Like lightning. It’s too hard to face the music. Too much going on- No! It’s too confusing! Keep twisting and turning And I’ll blow a fuse. At this point, all I can do is lose. I just cry, No point in asking why. I look up to the sky, And just look back down. Can’t help but feel like I’m about to drown. You ask why I frown, You want a smile on my face? Well then fill me with happiness For the sad to be replaced. I don’t think I can take This game of tug-of-war. I want to hide myself, And just lock the door. I got you telling me this, Got them telling me that, Got Him telling me to just stay where I’m at. Well, What does it all mean? I just want to scream! Wish it was all a dream, But a nightmare it seems. It’s just so unfair! To make a choice, I’m too scared. I feel like pulling my hair, But I want help, I swear I just don’t want to care, Wish I could be carefree, But hey, if I were, would I really still be me?
