Stress

Heart races
Muscles tense
Biting at my lip
Waiting

Tension builds
Ready to run
Ready to scream
Waiting

I wait for the end
I wait for the turning point
Hoping
The stress will pass

Take a deep breath
Use a stress ball
You're overreacting
Just calm down

You don't know
What it's like
To feel trapped
Within a sappy web

Something leers behind
Waiting for you to break
Hoping to watch you fall
Anticipating your demise

You have this
You have that
Today
Tomorrow

Appointments
Assignments
Shifts
Classes

There's only so much you can do
There's only so much you can take
Until what lurks in the darkness
Finds what it's been looking for
