Stress
Stress
Stress
A manifestation of the unnerving
Stress
The tickle at your side that you wish didn’t hurt
That sharp noise in your ear that doesn’t go away
The floater in your eye that follows your every blink
Stress
The motivator that demotivates
It functions as a drain, engrained in your veins
It drives you insane
Then tells you tells you “No pain no gain”…
So why don’t I feel any better than I was before
Why don’t I feel any stronger?
Stress
The foreshadowing of demise
As you tip tap your feet to the ground
Shifting the plates of your future
Desperation becomes opportunity
Rash decisions become a must
Risks become a chance
Common sense becomes your enemy
Stress
The arbitrator of unfavorable situations
The let me look for love in all the wrong places
The filler of voids with a deeper void
Stress
Abundant in all shapes and sizes
Each holding its own world of surprises
The false resolve
That evolves to devolve my inner being
So I drown my woes in sorrow
Into the empties bottles of Bacardi 151 surrounding me
Because life is short
You only get one shot
So I take another shot
Hakuna Matata that hit the spot
Stress
The Illusion
That a quick fix can quick fix
My eternal suffering
That friends like Jack Daniels
And Captain Morgan are the best I ever had
That battered bitches and stitches
Are the riches I wishes
Who needs help
When numbness mitigates pain?
When confusion mitigates sense?
When blurred vision blurs the vision of my life wasting away
Stress
YOLO
It just… Doesn’t work…
