Stricken Like a Match

Turn it up Music loud I just want to play it So hard I can’t think Get away Melt Eyes closing like Once opened doors Thorns turned by Lashes once soft Pain trickles through My now scared heart Deaf ears We all have Think you know Missed attempts we thought Were successful Look towards the mirror Head turns slowly Looking from reality To glimpse possibilities We’re all here Rubber band drawn across Lips. Grab tight But don’t let go Floors, like puzzles Worn too far Open up as a gaping Nothingness Up towards the horizon Smog blocking what Is potential Capture what is unclear Keep digging until Time passes and reveals The flowers we all deserve The sunset Or Sunrise Is all yours Don’t let darkness take it away
