Strife

Rays of sun pierced the dawn sky.

Fire blazes from where the night used to be,

Brightening the darkness from the sky.

The winter no longer seems to be nigh,

Everything looks as it should be,

With the new brightness of the sky.

Golden drops of sun are all I see,

And all good things seem so nigh,

The world glows as it should be,

All because of the new, sun-lit sky.

I looked upon the new world with new life,

There was something new I wanted to see,

I wanted to find what felt so nigh,

The things I knew that must be,

But things began to change in the sky.

The world seemed to be full of strife,

It all wanted to ruin this new life,

I turned away from this new sight to see,

Danger seemed to be very nigh,

It seemed that the world could no longer be,

The world that came with the new sky.

Soon, I was left within all the strife,

All I wanted was to live that new life.

Everything had changed from what I could see,

I ran away from the danger that was nigh,

I now knew that the world couldn’t be.

I left and ran from the strife,

I cried from loss of that new life.

The tears clouded what I could see,

And my demise seemed to be nigh.

Soon it seemed that I would live in strife,

Tears still falling from the loss of the new life.

I wanted everything that I could see.

I fell and was overcome with the strife,

But then it passed and there was a new life.

I am done with the strife.
