A string is No Friend of Mine

At times it seems

that a string

is far more riveting

than me.

it can do things

that I’ve

only dreamed.

it can go unnoticed

for days, months,

even years.

What a life

to be a string.

No pain

and clear purpose.

Unquestionable purpose.

Life free of sin

and greed.

oh

how I envy you

string.

you are innocent

and fragile

and untouched

by the devil’s clenching hand.

you may be

simplicity

and simplicity

mirrors fidelity

but I am

complexity.

That’s the difference

between you

and Me

little string.

and that’s why I

will never again

let myself believe

that I am

less important

than a string.
