The Strings of the Soul

Lips trembling with the lyrics of silenced singers

Body rocking back and forth with a rhythm unheard

Fingers burning as the metal cuts into flesh

Slowly, slowly, being consumed.

Ears ringing with deep bass thrumbs

Eyes shut tight against the imagined light

Heart pounding with the rapid beat

Slowly, slowly, being consumed.

Soul soaring with the enthralling melody

Mind brightening with brilliant expression

Smile shining with powerful relief

Slowly, slowly, being consumed.

Strings reverbating with clear notes

Sound board crying out with song

Stage filling with excited cheers

Slowly, slowly, being consumed.
