Strive to Work Together

Our country once fought for the red, white and blue,

But times are changing, new wars are waging.

Now people would rather debate than relate

We once worked together, but now we rarely ever.

People care more about wearing the designer brands

Than working with their hands.

We complain more about our problems

Instead of trying to solve them.

Everyday millions are hungry

But then thousands waste their precious food.

People care more about protecting themselves

Then helping others survive their own hell.

In order to solve our problems,

We must work together as a whole

It doesn't matter if we are red, white or black

That is what makes us unique.

We have to stop fighting

So that we can start accepting.

It doesn't matter if we are gay, bi or straight

It just matters if we strive to relate

Dismiss the prejudices of the past

Those who follow them come in last.

Come on America, we must work together

Our future depends if we are all in it together.
